A blog defines the way websites maintain a rolling newsfeed consisting of frequently updated information primarily focusing on a single topic. You should have already activated your personal VCU WordPress site and during this workshop you will become more familiar with the WordPress administrative dashboard, its available tools, and the logistics on how to post and manage blog entries.
Learning Objectives:
After the completion of this workshop the student will:
- Apply basic site customization such as styling options, typography, and layout specifics, etc.
- Identify suitable images to upload, edit, and save for the interactive slideshow
- Understanding the administrative settings
- Assemble images and activate the Portfolio feature
- Differentiate between the different plugins available and how to optimize their functionality
- Choose social media widgets to embed as Favicons into your sites footer
