We will continue creating our blog site by incorporating an ePortfolio. An ePortfolio is a collection of a variety of works developed over the course of one`s academic and/or professional career. It essentially is an electronic version of the traditional portfolio. It is a mobile friendly, easily accessible, dynamic display of your most important documents. The trend now is to blend both worlds - blogs and ePortfolios - in order to highlight and showcase the best of you. We will continue to customize and personalize your VCU WordPress blog by becoming more familiar with the administrative dashboard, the available features and tools, as well as the best strategy to maintain, share, and organize one`s blog and ePortfolio.

Learning Objectives:

After the completion of this workshop the student will:
  • Apply basic site customization such as styling options, typography, and layout specifics, etc.
  • Identify suitable images to upload, edit, and save for the interactive slideshow
  • Define an ePortfolio through portfolio management, organization, and sharing
  • Assemble images and projects to activate the Portfolio feature
  • showcase specific content using the Features function
  • Differentiate between the different plugins available and how to optimize their functionality
  • Understand the available tools in which to customize menus, widgets, and themes, etc.
  • Choose social media widgets to embed as Favicons into your sites footer
  • Apply roles to individual users
