| Description: | This episode looks at the adult brain. Explores the critical interplay between reason and emotion and what happens when the balance between the two brain regions that handle them goes awry. Because of a stroke, Marvin Bateman has lost his ability to connect with other people and has difficulty making decisions. Another man, Johny Cortez, suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and has panic attacks. Writer and psychologist Lauren Slater has been plagued with life-long depression, but believes that abuse suffered as a child made the condition worse.
Participants are welcome to bring their lunch.
Registration is encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome. |
