The Division of Animal Resources (DAR) is hosting an informational seminar entitled “Mouse Breeding and Weaning Revised Policy Seminar”, presented by Ms. Donna Tignor, Assistant Director for Program Development, Division of Animal Resources (DAR). This seminar will assist you and your colony managers regarding the Animal Care and Use Program (ACUP) breeding & weaning policy and how best to approach the care of your mouse strains.
The main purpose of this policy is to prevent overcrowded cages and to assure that litters are weaned appropriately. Adherence to this policy will increase breeding efficiency for most populations and promote overall animal welfare.
