The Animal Care and Use Program (ACUP) is hosting a workshop entitled "Conducting Animal Research at VCU Workshop." The new and new-to-VCU faculty/investigators conducting animal research are required to attend before their first IACUC submission OR within one year of their first IACUC-approved protocol. It is highly recommended for new research staff and students. Existing faculty, staff, students, and IACUC members are also encouraged to attend for any updated information. Topics include: IACUC functions and protocol submission process in RAMS-ACUP Veterinary care and policies for animal facility use DAR operations (e.g., services available to investigators) Occupational health and safety for employees and students Animal research and public sensitivity IBC/IACUC Protocol Review and Approved Procedures Training Materials (CDs) and Resources If you have any questions regarding registration, please contact Elizabeth Figueroa at figueroaloe@vcu.edu or the IACUC office at IACUC@vcu.edu.
