Take advantage of this rare campus visit by Inez Loyd, Public Affairs Specialist for the Social Security Administration, to learn about the mechanics of social security and considerations that apply to electing your social security benefits. Due to funding limitations, the Social Security Administration`s community outreach activities have been significantly curtailed, so this on-campus session may not be repeated in the near future.
The program will focus on how Social Security benefits are computed, entitlement considerations both before and after full retirement age, important Medicare considerations, and using Social Security Online to plan for retirement, apply for benefits, and transact business with SSA after retirement. The formal presentation will be followed by a voluntary Q&A session.
NOTE: This seminar is offered to VCU faculty and staff at no charge. When registering, enter budget code "000000".
