R is a programming language and environment for statistical computing and graphics.Topics covered in this course include a walkthrough the basics of R commands, reading data into R, combine data, data structures including vectors, matrices and data frames, R logic, basic descriptive statistics, R functions and how to use them, using conditional statements and loops in R programmes, R packages, writing and commenting R code. Working examples will be provided. In addition, the course will cover plotting in R. NOTE: there will be a 1 hour lunch break This class is co-sponsored by Research Data Management, VCU Libraries and The Statistics and Analytics Consulting Lab (SACL) in the Department of Statistical Sciences and Operations Research.
