Top Hat is a student response system used in the classroom that allows instructors to rapidly collect and analyze student responses to questions posed during class. Hosted by a representative from Top Hat, this online training has been customized exclusively for VCU faculty. In this session faculty will learn how to utilize the advanced features of Top Hat to enhance the classroom experience. Included in this session:

  • Upload Powerpoint presentations, add annotations and interactive questions.
  • Share polling questions, responses distributions and correct answers with students.
  • Create thought-provoking questions and use them to generate classroom discussions.
  • Polling data management and analysis.
  • Automatic grading of quizzes and exams.
  • Secure integration with Blackboard for roster and grade synchronization.

Prerequisites: Not required, but would be beneficial to have used Top Hat and/or attended the "Top Hat Basics for Faculty" course.
