Excel - Advanced Features

Excel is a spreadsheet application that calculates, analyzes, and displays data. This session includes, for example, formatting worksheets for clarity, built-in functions, filtering data, macros, scenarios, and goal seeking.

Learning Objectives:

The student will

  • Format worksheet ranges using text, cell color, and borders
  • Setup conditional formatting
  • Add comments to a worksheet
  • Import graphic objects to a worksheet
  • Pivot tables
  • Goal Seeking
  • Scenario
  • Customize the toolbar
  • Calculate with selected built-in functions
    • Create and name ranges
    • Calculate across worksheets
    • Understand the financial PMT function
    • Make use of reference or input areas
  • Sort a data list using multiple criteria
  • Use auto and advanced filters for data
  • Create macros and connect them to button objects
